Eco church

We believe that caring for creation is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life.

Reduce, reuse, recycle and care

Here are some of the ways we’re making positive changes.

  • LED bulbs use a lot less energy and save us money on running costs.

  • When disposables can’t be avoided we make sure they are recycled.

  • Through teaching and prayer, we encourage our congregation to cherish the beauty and diversity of God’s creation.

  • Our electricity supply is from 100% renewable sources.

  • That might mean wearing an extra jumper on cold days, but it reduces our carbon footprint.

  • We’ve built a bug hotel, installed nest boxes, and are growing native plants to attract pollinators.

  • Through our actions as a church, we aim to encourage sustainable lifestyles and environmentally conscious choices.

  • We’ve installed recycling bins for paper, plastics, writing implements, dental products, and bakery packaging.

  • Meat production is a huge contributor to global warming.

  • We’ve planted hundreds of spring flower bulbs on the ring road roundabout next to St Paul’s.

  • In our purchasing and lifestyle decisions we consider impacts on people and environments.
