Life events

Life has events of great joy and deep sadness. We are here to support you in those events.

Baptisms

Baptism is a public commitment to follow God. You can be baptised at any age.

Child baptisms

If you would like your child to be baptised get in touch with us using the form below or speak to the rector.

Although there is no official maximum number of godparents, three or four is usual. Because of the very special role godparents have in supporting your child’s faith journey, the Church of England requires godparents to be baptised themselves. If the people who you'd like to be godparents aren't baptised, they may still be able to be involved in the baptism service.

You will be able to discuss what’s involved with the rector.

Adult baptisms

If you are interested in being baptised as an adult, we encourage you first to complete the Alpha Course as a way of learning and exploring more about the Christian faith before booking a date for baptism.

If you’ve already been baptised but want to make a fresh commitment

If you have been baptised as a child and would like to make a fresh public commitment to follow God as an adult, we recommend that you explore confirmation. This is because we believe that our baptism as a baby is once and for all.

Confirmations

Confirmation is a way to reaffirm the commitment you made at your baptism.

Confirmation is usually made some years after your baptism, but can happen whenever feels most appropriate to you.

Get in touch with us using the form below or speak to the rector if you are interested in confirmation.

Weddings

Getting married in church is personal, meaningful, spiritual and beautiful.

We recommend visiting yourchurchwedding.org to find out about Church of England weddings.

Get in touch with us using the form below or speak to the rector if you are interested being married at St Paul’s.

Funerals

If someone you know and love has died, a funeral led by a Church of England minister can be held in church, in a churchyard, by a graveside, or at a crematorium.

Get in touch with us using the form below or speak to the rector if you want to discuss a funeral service to be held at St Paul’s or you would like the rector to hold a funeral service.
